An ideal class for anybody new to Scratch. This class will get you up and running with the software and Tangent control surfaces. ICA Colorists have real world grading experience, so will be able to offer far more than just how to push the buttons. Those wishing to complete further training should continue with Scratch 201 and Scratch Post Workflow

- Scratch on Mac or PC, Video output, Tablets and control panels.
- Scratch topology - Users and Projects
- Creating and managing users, bring and carry away personal settings, create and delete projects, setup the preferences
- UI and Modules Overview
- What to do in the different “rooms”
- The Matrix
- Introduction to the primary and secondary tool box. Usage of printer lights, Numerics, Scaffolds, Curves, LUTs, and a little 3D space
- DAY TWO
- Review of day one
- Go through the points with the help of the students
- Edit module
- Imports of EDL, ALE or AAF, Construct and multi layer timeline explained
- Process module
- How to cache, render and process material out of Scratch
- More Matrix
- Tracking , Keying , Curves and Animations
- Review of day one
- DAY THREE
- Style !
- Put the tools at hand in use to get to the technical and creative goals
- Look management
- Using and managing memories, copy and paste selections and The Tray
- Plugins
- OFX and internal ones ... Speed changes, Grain and video filters
- Q&A
- Questions to and from the students, philosophical aspects of grading
- Style !
