Coloring Beauty from Surrender

I recently Colored ‘Beauty from Surrender’ for Passionflix at Serve Chilled in Brisbane.

Filmed in Queensland on 2 Arri Alexas.

17 shoot days. 29 locations. 155 scenes.

Lots of different looks across natural scenes, music performances, intimate moments and big dramatic scenes was a lot of fun. I didn’t change anything dramatically just complemented what Jake and Hayley created on set.

I only had 7 days for this grade and with the film running at 110min it wasn’t heaps of time. The 1st day was trying looks so when hayley and Jake arrived on the 2nd morning I had things to show them. I really like a day before my clients arrive so I can initially fine tune what I like and don’t like before showing them.

The small amount of VFX were added overnight by the team at Serve Chilled who were also pumping out WIP streamers for the US producers. The final morning was our review time, leaving me the afternoon to work through a relatively small amount of notes.

This was a really fun project.
